Welcome to GEN1!

Thank YOU so much for visiting my site! I hope it becomes a place to encourage and support you in your educational endeavors!! I want to explain the reason for starting GEN1 Science Education so you understand the concept. I love teaching, and believe it or not, I love working with middle school aged students. It is a very challenging time in a young person's life and full of a range of experiences and emotions. BUT it is a very important time, and from my years of working with this age group, many future life choices and decisions are birthed during these early adolescent years!  Not so coincidentally, my personality and gifting is uniquely  designed to be beneficial to these young people at this particular time in his or her life!  However, as many of you know from experience, teaching is not a vocation to build wealth! Most degree-required vocations allow the worker to  negotiate salary  and work up a "salary ladder". However, in teaching, unless one moves into administrative roles, salary only increases at minimal increments every year of teaching. Thus, for those of us who love teaching, want to keep teaching but are the primary supporters of our family, we need other opportunities to gain income. Thankfully, the success of Teachers Pay Teachers and other sites has allowed an avenue for "born" teachers to remain in the classroom where they can be most effectual!  And so, GEN1 was created to provide the method of allowing me to stay in the classroom and "attempt" to create more income by sharing my decades of experience and knowledge with other amazing teachers!!
